Community Policing
A current and important goal for the
Lebanon Police Department is to move towards Community Policing.
Community Policing can mean a lot of things. The goal of the
Lebanon Police
Department is to bring the police officers and the job they do,
together
with the community, in an effort to work together and solve
problems.
It is a very complicated and sometimes expensive style of
police work, and in some cases dramatically different from the "old
ways"
of solving problems. At the current time the Lebanon Police
Department
is implementing an extensive training program involving numerous
officers.
Community policing, while a generic term, is something that must
be
tailored to each individual community. It is dependent on the
needs
of the community and the resources of the department. Officer
Andy
Lebo is our departments "Community Service Officer" at the current
time.
As the department's program and the community grow other
officers
will become involved. Below you will find some information on
Community
Policing. Please feel free to contact us with your questions.
